Wade Koniakowsky Paints Port A

Well-known surf artist Wade Koniakowsky conducted a painting demonstration at the Felder Gallery in Port "A" on June 7, from 12 to 3.

We are very pleased to be representing both his originals and his signed and numbered canvas prints. During the demo Wade created two original paintings that are currently available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from that day went to the Central Texas Surfrider Foundation.

From many points around the city marina, popular watering holes, and Port A's finest restaurants you'll see this bright colored home across the channel. Known to locals as the "Pink House".

Koniakowsky creates evocative, atmospheric art that could only be envisioned from a surfer’s perspective. Normally, his work transports the viewer to dreamlike exotic locales. But with his interest in the Port Aransas area, he has begun concentrating more on images of the Mustang Island surf scene. Currently the Felder Gallery is showing this new work. Wade: “I grew up surfing and painting here in the 60’s, and I’ve reconnected with this area in the past few years.

Koniakowsky exhibits in galleries and museums on the east and west coast, in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, England and now in Texas.
