Wade Koniakowsky has spent his entire life involved with the ocean and art. Through his golden wavescapes one can lose the tensions of every life and escape to a distant shore. The serenity of his scenes is ethereal and eternal. A surfer since 1966, Wade has soaked up the ocean resulting in a deep reservoir of imagery to draw from. He now lives and works on the California Coast with his wife and daughters.
Koniakowsky is one of the top surf -inspired-artists on the West Coast. According to Surfer Magazine “Wade's oil paintings are inspired by dreamlike point breaks in Polynesian paradise ... trees blow gently in an offshore breeze as reefs fire in the distance and in the foreground." Koniakowsky has created art for surf contests including both the men's and women's World Longboarding Championship and for sponsors such as Roxy Women's apparel. He is a top seller in two of the largest gallery chains in the Hawaiian Islands. Prior to becoming a painter, Wade spent years as a Creative Director in advertising, creating campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and winning over 300 creative awards.
Koniakowsky exhibits in galleries and museums on the east and west coast, in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, England and now in Texas. Currently the Felder Gallery is showing this new work.
