Manaus (Portuguese pronunciation: [maˈnaws] is a city in Brazil, the capital of the state of Amazonas. It is situated at the confluence of the Negro and Amazon rivers and is where artist Dinah Bowman made her ‘rubbings’ or ‘gyotaku fish prints’ of the following 5 species: Piranha Pacu, Piranha Sardine, Piranha Pintado, Piranha Cashew, and Piranha Pacu.
