As a sculptor my work finds its inspiration in the infinite forms of nature. Though no artist can compete with the perfection or spectacular beauty that exists in the forms from our ocean, the earth and sky, and the tiniest cell or organism, my challenge is in studying these forms, as well as those which man has created and bringing these together in an interesting way. For me, creating is a spiritual process where the link between nature, mankind & our existence, and universal consciousness coincide.
Fascinated by the inherent motion & rhythm found in so many forms both natural and manmade, my work strives to capture a piece of this action, sometimes found in the tiniest flower bud, sometimes found in industry, sometimes found simply in a feeling of being part of our vast, mysterious world. Both abstract and organic, my sculpture encompasses a variety of media, but my favorite mediums are bronze and steel. I especially like the seductive quality of bronze and I am enamored by its ability to make fleeting ideas permanent.
My work comes to me intuitively, I enjoy making it, and it is rarely political. As I see it, my creativity is a gift from the universe – and by bringing forth my little ideas – this is my gift in return. I hope you enjoy them too.”
